My research focuses on evolutionary psychology, consumer behavior, persuasion, and social influence. For example, I study how different evolutionary motives (e.g., status, competition, mating, affiliation) or specific discrete emotions (e.g., pride, awe, contentment, lust, fear) influence consumer decisions, advertising, helping, aggression, and conformity.
